Guapisima by Tamayaz ex Miss Verity, 3 year old brown/black filly purchased at Tattersalls February sales 2006
Guapisima was purchase initialy as a companion to La Preciosa. When she came to the stud, she looked like a cross between a shaggy dog and a Shetland pony, however, she has thrived and grown into a beautiful filly. She is extremely well built and takes after her father in stature. What has impressed us about her is her willingness to please and the fact that she seems to know what is expected of her. She gives 100% even if the ground is against her and has thus far carried out every task she has been asked with ease. We are extremely excited by what she is showing us and are confident of seeing her in the winner’s enclosure during her career.
Her Sire: Tamayaz
Tamayaz, a son of Gone West, gives breeders a real chance to tap into the Mr Prospector line which has enjoyed so much international success.
Tamayaz produced an impressive display to win the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes (Gr 3) by 5 lengths, defeating the Group One winner Glory Of Dancer and earning himself a Timeform rating of 121. Being from the Mr Prospector sire line, Tamayaz has the ability to handle dirt, leading him to victories at Nad Al Sheba at the World Cup meeting, as well as earning a run in the Breeder’s Cup Classic against some of the best horse in America.
Such qualities will have helped Tamayaz gain the stakes winner she has had to date, including Conservation, who won on dirt in the US. The average winning distance of his offspring is just over 6f which shows how Tamayaz injects speed into pedigrees
Her Dam: Miss Verity
Miss Verity by Factual ran a total of 6 times, winning once and placed a further 4 times. Her last race in 2000 being £100000 Tattersalls Autumn Auction Stakes (Class B) (Class 2), in which she finished a fantastic second only beaten a length and a half. Guapisima is her third foal with her first offspring being placed
